History
Casal da Coelheira

The history of the farm dates back to 1835. Located in Tramagal, on the south bank of the Tagus River, it was acquired in 1986 by José and Xinanda Rodrigues. With their only son, Nuno, they built what is now Casal da Coelheira. Today, this project is a family passion spanning three generations. The property covers around 300 hectares, divided between vineyards and various arable crops protected by a small area of pine forest.

More than just producing wine, we are driven by the desire to share emotions, stories, and moments. We work every day with dedication, respect for nature, and a firm commitment to quality and sustainability.

The diversity of the farm’s landscape has allowed certain game species to remain, including partridge, wild duck, wild boar, and, most notably, rabbits, an abundant species that gave rise to the property’s name, Casal da Coelheira.

Today, Casal da Coelheira is recognized for the authenticity of its wines and its ability to combine the best of tradition with a spirit of discovery. We continue to explore, improve, and innovate—without ever losing sight of the roots that brought us here.

In the vineyard and in the cellar, we combine experience with technology to bring to life authentic, elegant wines with their own identity. Each bottle reflects the care, technique, and love with which we do our work.
