The Ribatejo’s winemaking history dates back to 1170 when the quality wines were well appreciated by the first king of Portugal, D. Afonso Henriques.
The winery at Tramagal is a Portuguese traditional facility. A combination of timeless architecture, with massive white and yellow walls, keeping the state of art winemaking technology to the inside.
During the last decade the winery has seen many upgrades, employing a high level of automation and technical excellence: Italian Ganimede vats, modern vacuum press, micro-oxygenation, central digital temperature management system, open fermenters with single hydraulic crusher, etc..
Indeed, the winery adheres to strict quality standards, as the HACCP* plan arrives. A systematic preventive approach to food safety that addresses prevention rather than finished product inspection.
