Casal da Coelheira
At Casal da Coelheira, the vineyards grow in harmony with the Tagus River, in a terroir rich in history and tradition. There are 53 hectares of vineyards planted in sandy soils, which are very poor but enhance the concentration and structure of the grapes.
Each grape variety planted in our vineyards has been carefully selected to express the best of the Tejo region.
Each variety is treated with the care necessary to produce authentic, balanced wines full of personality.
- Grape varieties: Touriga Nacional, Touriga Franca, Syrah, Cabernet Sauvignon, Alicante Bouschet, Alfrocheiro, Tinta Miúda
- White: Fernão Pires, Arinto, Verdelho, Chardonnay
The microclimate along the Tagus River, with warm days and cool nights, favors slow and balanced ripening of the grapes. The sandy, well-drained soils produce elegant and expressive wines with a minerality that is so characteristic of us.
